The Book of our Life

The Book of Life is mentioned both in the Bible and the Quran. This is a book which has information about the whole life of the person recorded by the angels.

Recording Guardian Angels - The Book of Life

Angels are messengers in the Bible (Hebrews 1:14) and Quran (Surah 35:1) with two, or three or four wings (Surah 35:1) and also act as guardians. They are created male and female, the Quran confirms female angels serving God (Surah 37:150; 43:19). The Testament of Solomon also has male and female demons. The spirit world is composed of both genders despite what we may have thought or have been previously taught. They stand in troops around God's heavenly throne which is seated in the seventh heaven (Surah 39:75). See also the United Church of God, there article on Angels for more information.

God has set over each person guardian angels, which scribble our actions on the earth in a book, containing our deeds whether good or bad. This is the Book of our Life - a record of our life on the earth. These are recording angels in the Quran and in the Book of Revelation, at the Great White Judgement, this book is opened. The Book of our Life is also known in the Quran as The Record of one's deeds. This book is placed in the right hand to enter into Paradise.

Surah 69:18- 22, "That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Here! read my Record! "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" So he shall be in a life, well pleasing, in a lofty Paradise".

Revelation 20:12, “And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”

Surah 6:61, “He is the Irresistible, (Supreme) over His slaves, and He sends guardian (angels guarding and writing all of one’s good and bad deeds) over you, until when death approaches one of you. Our Messengers (angel of death and his assistant) take his soul, and they never neglect their duty.” (The Noble Quran Edition).

At death the angels carry away the "spirit" in man (translated soul) to the heavens where it is kept until the Day of Resurrection. Again in Surah 16:33, angels are taking away the souls (spirit in man) of the ungodly.

Surah 6:61, "... when death approaches our Angels takes his soul, and they never neglect their duty".

God puts angels before and behind each person (Surah 13:11, "for him each person there are angels in succession, before and behind him".) Compare this with Psalm 91:11, "For He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways".

Two guardian angels are appointed to each person, one that sits on the left hand and the other on the right hand side scribbling down the actions of each person.

Surah 50:17, "Remember that two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being), one sitting on the right and the one on the left (to note his or her actions)." The Noble Quran edition.

The Feast of Trumpets is the day of resurrection and with a loud shout of a trumpet, the angels will gather the elect (first resurrection). Each person will be accompanied by an angel who will bear witness. The Bible records the angels will gather the elect from the four corners of the earth. It is likely both resurrections recorded in Revelation 20 will be accompanied by the sound of a loud trumpet.

Mark 13:27, "And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens." (see also Matthew 24:31).

Surah 50:20,21, "And the Trumpet will be blown--that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (ie Day of Resurrection). And every person will come forth along with an angel to drive (him) and an (angel) to bear witness."
