Seven Gates of Hell

Few people realise the Quran states that there are seven gates of hell. These may be known as seven infernal mansions in occult literature. They also accept the existence of seven hells.

Quran 15:43-44, "And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated."

Says One Islamic source: "the Gates of Hell are one above the other. ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib may Allah be pleased with him then put one of his hands above the other, saying that the Gates of Paradise are horizontal but the ones of Hell are vertical. `Ali added that the levels of Hell are ranked according to the degree of torture in descending order. From bottom to top are: Jahannam "Jehenna," Hutamah "crusher," Saqar "scorching fire, Jaheem "Hell-Fire," Latha "fierce blaze," Sa‘eer "blaze," and Haawiyah "abyss." He mentioned that each gate is 70 times hotter than the gate above it.

From Wikipedia:

there are also The Seven Infernal Habitations or seven hells (Tehom, Abaddon, Titahion, Barshacheth, Tzelmoth, Shaarimoth and Gehinnom), twelve Qliphotic orders of demons, three powers before Satan and twenty-two demons which correspond to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

From the book, The Kabbalah Unveiled by Mathers:

The Demons are the grossest and most deficient of all forms. Their ten degrees answer to the decad of the Sephiroth, but in inverse ratio, as darkness and impurity increase with the descent of each degree. The two first are nothing but absence of visible form and organization. The third is the abode of darkness. Next follow seven Hells occupied by those demons which represent incarnate human vices, and torture those who have given themselves up to such vices in earth-life. Their prince is Samael, SMAL, the angel of poison and of death. His wife is the harlot, or woman of whoredom, ASHTH ZNVNIM, Isheth Zenunim; and united they are called the beast, CHIVA, Chioa. Thus the infernal trinity is completed, which is, so to speak, the averse and caricature of the supernal Creative One. Samael is considered to be identical with Satan.
