Visions of Paul 38-39: "And I observed and saw another old man down in a pit and his countenance was like blood, and I asked and said, Sir, what is this place? And he said to me: Into that pit stream all the punishments. And I saw men and women immersed up to the lips and I asked, Sir, who are these? And he said to me: These are the magicians who prepared for men and women evil magic arts and did not find how to stop them till they died.
And again I saw men and women with very black faces in a pit of fire, and I sighed and lamented and asked, Sir, who are these? And he said to me: These are fornicators and adulterers who committed adultery having wives of their own: likewise also the women committed adultery having husbands of their own: therefore they unceasingly suffer penalties.
39. And I saw there girls having black raiment, and four terrible angels having in their hands burning chains, and they put them on the necks of the girls and led them into darkness: and I, again weeping, asked the angel: Who are these, Sir? And he said to me: These are they who, when they were virgins, defiled their virginity unknown to their parents; for which cause they unceasingly pay the proper penalties.
Quran 3:106-107: "On the Day of Resurrection when some faces will become white and some faces will become black; as for those whose faces will become black (to them will be said): "Did you reject Faith after accepting it? Then taste the torment in Hell for rejecting Faith?" As for those whose faces will become white, they will be in God's Mercy (Paradise), therein they shall dwell forever.""
Quran 39:60: "And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied against God--their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the arrogant?"
B. Talmud - Mas. Rosh HaShana 17a:17-18, "Of them Hannah said, They that strive with the Lord shall be broken to pieces.17 R. Isaac b. Abin said: And their faces shall be black like the sides of a pot. Raba added: Among them are the most handsome of the inhabitants of Mahuza, and they shall be called ‘sons of Gehinnom’.
B. Talmud, explanation note 18: "(18) [The passage is difficult. Read with MS.M. ‘The Master said (above) "Of them (of the intermediate class) Hannah said The Lord killeth and maketh alive, he bringeth down to the grave and bringeth up". R. Isaac b. Abin said, And their faces (that is, of the intermediate class) shall (on rising from Gehinnom) be black like the sides of the pot. Raba added, And yet (despite this disfigurement) they shall be more beautiful than the most handsome men of Mahuza who shall be called the sons of Gehinnom’. V. D.S. a.l.]"
B. Talmud - Mas. Yoma 19a:7,"‘The Cell of Hewn Stone’; there the Sanhedrin of Israel was sitting and judging the priests and whosoever was found unfit would put on a black dress and wrap himself in black, go out and go his way. And one in whom no blemish was found would put on a white garment, wrap himself in white, enter the Sanctuary and officiate with his brethren."
B. Talmud - Mas. Yoma 39b:5 "Our Rabbis taught: During the last forty years before the destruction of the Temple the lot [‘For the Lord’] did not come up in the right hand; nor did the crimson-coloured strap become white; nor did the westernmost light shine; and the doors of the Hekal would open by themselves,"
In God's Paradise we will have to have white faces. White is Right. Black faces on the other hand mean a certain fate in the Gates of Hell to suffer torment. These will be the goats on the Left hand side, the sheep on the Right (Matt 25:33). The Dwellers of Paradise are those on the Right Hand (Quran, Surah 91:18). Of course being black or white has nothing to do with ethnicity. Believers in God will be sons of Light (1 Thess 5:5). Light is white in colour. The Apostle Paul also saw people dwelling in hell with black faces. The Talmud says the faces of the sons of Gehinnom will be black like the sides of a pot.
The righteous priests put on white robes whilst the ungodly had to wear black robes after being judged by the High Priest. The lot of the Lord did not fall in the right hand 40 years prior to the destruction of the Temple. This must have been from 30AD to 70AD. The light was also removed from the west. Light and the right hand symbolised God's presence in the Temple.
